About

Emily Teresa writes stories for the misfits, the monster-lovers, and anyone who’s ever felt like they don’t quite belong.

As a freelance writer and fiction author, she creates across genres and age ranges: picture books, young adult fantasy, and adult horror. Her work blends fantasy, science fiction, and horror with emotional depth, exploring what it means to find your place in a world that wasn’t built for you.

Monsters, mysteries, and historical oddities are constant threads in Emily’s work. She’s drawn to stories about transformation, identity, and the power of being different. Her characters are too loud, too strange, too much, and they prove that those differences are exactly what make them extraordinary. She writes the stories she wished she had growing up as a queer neurodivergent kid, creating narratives for everyone who needs them. Beyond fiction, Emily writes articles and essays on accessibility in the arts, women’s history, and LGBTQ+ topics.

Emily’s whimsical yet emotionally resonant style was shaped by her technical high school education in TV media and theatrical art production. She’s currently pursuing a degree in Creative Writing with a concentration in screenwriting at Ringling College of Art and Design, where she also writes and directs one-act plays as an active member of the Ringling Theater Club. This combination of technical training and creative exploration continues to refine her storytelling across mediums.
